Act of restitution of the Columbus House Museum to the heirs of Mayor Pedro Rico

An out-of-court claim by CALIOPE ART LAW has led to the first restitution by a public museum in Spain under the Democratic Memory Law. Following the processing of a pioneering case in Spain by the Museums Service of the Gran Canaria Island Council, under the leadership of Alicia Bolaños Naranjo, the Council approved the return to the heirs of the former Republican mayor Pedro Rico of five works held in the Casa Colón Museum in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
